Cookies Policy

Last updated: 19 July 2026

This Cookies Policy explains how SquareTable, operated by SAM Media B.V., Van Diemenstraat 356, 1013 CR Amsterdam, Netherlands, uses cookies and similar browser storage (such as localStorage) when you use the Service. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies and local storage?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. localStorage is a related browser mechanism that lets a website keep small pieces of data on your device between visits. Both let the Service remember information such as whether you are signed in and which theme you prefer.

2. What we use and why

SquareTable focuses on essential, functional storage needed to run the Service. We use:

  • mb_auth (cookie) — a strictly necessary authentication flag that tells the Service you have an active session so that gated pages (such as chat) load for you.
  • mb_session (localStorage) — stores your session identity so you stay signed in between visits without re-entering your details.
  • auth_token (localStorage) — a token used to authenticate your requests to our backend API so your conversations and account data load correctly.
  • theme (localStorage) — remembers your light or dark appearance preference so the interface looks the way you left it.

These items are used for authentication, security, and remembering your preferences. The Service does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Where we add any non-essential storage in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

3. Third-party storage

Some third parties involved in delivering the Service — for example our infrastructure providers — may set their own cookies or storage subject to their own policies. The AI model providers your prompts are sent to are described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Managing cookies and local storage

You can control and delete cookies and localStorage through your browser settings — for example by clearing site data for SquareTable or by blocking cookies. You can also sign out to clear your session. Because the items listed above are essential, blocking or deleting them may sign you out and prevent parts of the Service, such as chat, from working.

5. Changes and contact

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes. Questions can be sent to support@ai-squaretable.com.
